Nissan GT-R50: Engineering a Supercar Marvel

The release of the Nissan GT-R50 coincided in time with two anniversaries – the half-century anniversary of the sports car itself and the Italdesign body shop. It’s never too late to revisit how Nissan got the idea to create a limited-edition model and what was eventually shown at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex, England, UK.

All Great Things Begin in Geneva

It all began when Nissan’s Vice President of Design, Alphonse Albaisa, was invited to the Italdesign stand at the Geneva Motor Show 2017, where representatives of the legendary workshop invited him to celebrate the double anniversary with a joint project.

Passion, freedom, and the triumph of ideas – a succinct description of the work on this supercar. The ‘donor’ for it was the Nissan GT-R Nismo, known as one of the rarer GTR models in the US and Europe and always a sought-after high-value model on platforms offering damaged gtr for sale online.

The Nissan GT-R50 prototype was designed by Italdesign, and the appearance was developed by the teams of Nissan Europe and Nissan America.

Beautiful On the Outside and Inside

The Nissan GT-R50 was released in an aristocratic combination of dark gray and gold. Despite the new design, this car retained the image of the original version of the GTR sports car. The curved lines in the shape of the headlights and air intakes make the car sportier, more aggressive, and bolder.

Now let’s move along the side. There are 21-inch front wheels, behind them are air vents in the shape of a samurai katana and a wide rear axle. The Nissan GT-R50 is supplied with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, known for excellent road grip.

At the stern, there is a large spoiler wing with an adjustable angle of inclination. Under the spoiler is the model’s hallmark – round headlights. The design of the rear lights has also been updated – there is a distinct empty core, making the lights seem to float separately from the car’s body.

The Nissan GT-R50

It’s time to take a look inside the Nissan GT-R50. Its interior is befitting of its supercar status: high-quality black leather, Alcántara upholstery, carbon fiber inserts, and gold-colored elements are mixed in ideal proportions.

The Nissan GT-R50 has received improved traction, resulting in a highly dynamic driving experience for happy owners. Nissan has found a way to optimize the 3.8-liter V6 engine to produce 720 hp. This whole herd of wild horses gallops through an improved transmission.

From the Workshop and Track to the Roads

This outstanding sports car had a high-profile premiere at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. On July 12, 2018, famous sports drivers Lucas Ordó?ez and Alex Duncombe tested the Nissan GT-R50 on the dedicated racetrack.

The model was then released in a limited edition – only 50 copies from the Italdesign studio have hit the roads. Each supercar was built taking into account the wishes of its owners. A perfectly custom, high-value sports car with many parts made involving manual craftsmanship. You may be among the lucky few who have seen a Nissan GT-R50 in your town.
