Alibaba Group has signed 3 agreements with the Ethiopian government to join the Electronic World Trade Platform. The eWTP is the Alibaba’s initiative aiming to lower global trade barriers for SMEs through e-commerce. What is more, it will offer support in smart logistics, fulfillment, and talent training.

Ethiopia needed the four “Es” in order to connect its economy with global markets: education, e-government, e-frastructure and entrepreneurs. Education is critical for any uptick in economic strength, while governance handled online is more efficient and more transparent. In addition, larger and faster internet networks were essential for business today, and entrepreneurship was a driving force for job creation in any economy

Alibaba Business School will offer digital training, as part of the partnership. It means that Ethiopian entrepreneurs, business leaders, and university lecturers will be provided with a range of specialized programs for business management.
