Amazon India is encouraging all persons over 45 years to receive the jab
Amazon India is set to cater to COVID-19 vaccines for over a million residents in India, according to Business-Standart.com. This includes the companies’ associates, employees as well as sellers who hold active listings since 2020.
Other persons who will be covered include the Delivery Service Partner Associates comprising the I Have Space (IHS) store associates, Amazon Flex Drivers, truck drivers as well as other dependents.
This progress comes as the company adds a $2.5 billion investment globally. The $2.5 billion investment will be channeled to incentives and bonuses for the teams. Meanwhile, the $11.5 billion investment will be channeled towards coronavirus vaccines as well as other measures.
The company also established the Partner Support Fund and Amazon Relief Fund for the operation partner network. Other measures implemented by Amazon India include relaxed guidelines, fee waivers, and covering eligible sellers.
PaySpace Magazine anticipates this step isn’t likely to influence the general vaccination rate in India. Despite the fact that the country’s vaccination rollout is among the highest globally, less than 15% of the population has received the first shot so far. This way, having a population of over 1.3 billion people, India has to perform at least 6 million vaccinations per day to contain the disease.
We’ve reported that India donated 100,000 COVID-19 vaccines to Nigeria.
