iPhone users will soon effortlessly share NFC digital keys with friends and family
Apple’s iOS 16 rollout brought joy to iPhone users, introducing a bunch of new features. However, more updates are yet to come. As reported by NFCW, later this year, the company promises to enable iPhone users to securely share NFC digital car, house, workplace and hotel room keys held in Wallet.
Wallet owners would be able to share their access keys with colleagues, friends and family via messaging apps such as Messages, Mail and WhatsApp. In addition, they’ll have full control over the shared details. Namely, users will be able to decide where and when shared keys can be used and may “revoke them anytime”.
Storing digital keys in a Wallet app allows users to open doors and start selected car models with the help of Near Field Communication (NFC) technology.? iPhone automatically presents the right key when you arrive at your door or vehicle. Some models of Apple Watches also support the function.
