UK cinemas allow users to confirm their identities with a digital ID card.
According to UK Cinema Association, all visitors from 13 years can now confirm that they meet the age requirements of the UK film classification system. Yet, they will not have to carry any documents confirming their identity but only a smartphone.
To do this, every visitor will need to download the the Yoti or Post Office EasyID app to their smartphone, upload their IS card, and add a selfie as the final step to confirm their identity.?
When visiting one of the cinemas, the user will simply provide his digital ID card. If they meet the age requirements, that means they will be allowed to proceed.?
Also, the digital card can not be faked because it has a unique and inherent to each person hologram, Yoti states.?
This innovation will be widespread in the network of cinemas, owned by members of the UK Cinema Association including Odeon Cinema, CineWorld, and Showcase Cinemas.?
