Mastercard has announced its partnership with WiPay, the Caribbean’s fintech company.

Both companies will collaborate to increase financial inclusion in the islands through a suite of payment and acceptance solutions.

This way, WiPay will use Mastercard’s Bank in the Box solution to empower SMEs through card acceptance. That’s an end to end solution for SMEs that don’t accept card payments and aren’t financially included.

Besides, Caribbean fintech will partner with a local financial institution that will issue a Mastercard prepaid card. That would strengthen local digital ecosystems. What is more, it would facilitate seamless, fast, and transparent disbursements of funds for SMEs and citizens.rnWe found in WiPay a knowledgeable partner to bring our vision to life and are excited to partner with them to bring these robust solutions to the market. This important partnership builds on our commitment to lead the journey towards developing smarter islands and cashless societies to strengthen economies and increase financial inclusion throughout the region
Marcelo Tangioni, Mastercard’s Caribbean Division President
