Over 700 million accounts participate in calls between WhatsApp and Messenger on a daily basis
Facebook announced the rollout of Messenger Rooms, enabling free group video calls.?This way, Facebook users can create a room right from Messenger or Facebook and invite anyone to join their video call. It concerns those don’t have a Facebook account as well.
According to the statement, Rooms will soon hold up to 50 people with no time limit.
Besides, users can just start and share rooms on Facebook through the news feed, groups, and events. In addition, video call hosts can remove people from the call and lock a room if they don’t want anyone else to enter.
At the same time, the company unveiled it will add ways to create rooms from Instagram Direct and WhatsApp later.
Facebook stated that users will be able to have group voice and video calls with up to 8 people on WhatsApp. As before, the calls are secured with end-to-end encryption eliminating the possibility for anyone to view or listen to the private conversation.
We’ve reported that WhatsApp users receive a message offering them 4 free Heineken beer kegs, referring to quarantine and exploiting slogans like “stay at home” and similar ones.
