The robots are equipped in a way to significantly decrease human-to-human contact
JD along with GREE, a state-owned manufacturing company, entered into a partnership to develop new types of robots to fight against COVID-19.
This way, both companies will develop robots for integrated indoor and outdoor scenarios. Indoor scenarios include hospitals, airports, shopping malls, office buildings, and libraries whereas outdoor include industrial parks, school campuses, and central business district (CBD) areas.
According to the statement, the indoor inspection robot can discern people’s temperature in highly mobile areas. It is equipped with an infrared sensor detecting the body temperature of a moving group of people in real-time. Besides, it can also able to issue a warning if sensing abnormal temperature and raise awareness of the pandemic.
As to the disinfection robots, both indoor and outdoor types can automatically spray disinfectant gas and liquid for 24 hours a day.? In addition, they can also carry out indoor disinfection when there’s no personnel available at night via ultraviolet lamps. The companies claim it not only reduces labor costs but also protects staff who conduct disinfection.
