Mastercard customers will be able to experience contactless payments at more merchants across Canada
Mastercard has revealed that it is enabling the increase of contactless payment limits across Canada as people are looking for safer payment ways amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
Besides, since Canada is considered to be one of the most cashless societies worldwide, this contactless adoption is expected to grow even further.
For now, the company is working with industry partners in Canada to accept contactless payment up to $250 CAD. After the implementation, the cardholders will be able to purchase in a much faster and safer way.
What is more, Mastercard doesn’t require customers’ signatures on a receipt or electronic point of sale device for contactless payments, thus securing comfort, safety, and speed at checkout.
The rise of contactless limits is one of among other initiatives the company is providing to support its employees and cardholders. For instance, Mastercard had recently announced a partnership with The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Wellcome Trust to accelerate the development and access to treatment for COVID-19.
