Mastercard’s European businesses cover 53 countries, serving more than 950 million people
Mastercard has appointed Mark Barnett as President of its Brussels-based European business. Mr. Barnett will be responsible for the strategy, direction, and overall success of all aspects of Mastercard’s activity across the region.
In his new position, Mark Barnett will report to Gilberto Caldart, President of International. It has been announced that he will join Mastercard’s Management Committee effective June 1, 2020.
Earlier, Mark Barnett was Divisional President for the UK, Ireland Nordics, and Baltics. He joined Mastercard in 2003 and has held various roles including leading their payments consulting business for Europe and globally. In addition to that, Mr. Barnett has more than 20 years of experience working in the retail banking and payments industry.
He will replace the current President of Mastercard Europe, Javier Perez, who retires at the end of 2020.
We’ve reported that Ethoca, Mastercard company,?is expanding its collaboration with Microsoft. This way, Microsoft customers can get easier access to their digital purchase receipts through their banking apps, enabled with Ethoca’s Digital Receipts service.
