UK customers will get bigger flexibility and access to a range of different meal solutions and essentials
Asda and Uber Eats have announced a partnership to offer customers a 30 minutes delivery service to the doorstep.
The trial will roll out in Leeds and Birmingham stores thus giving customers a choice of more than 300 Asda own-brand products.
According to the report, customers can shop in the same way as they would when ordering from a restaurant via the Uber Eats app. After the order is confirmed, it is picked in-store by Asda before being collected and delivered by a courier.
The service has no minimum basket size needed to qualify for delivery. Along with that, the partnership provides shoppers with a contactless and cashless payment option.
The partnership may be extended to more Asda stores if the trial is successful.
We’ve reported that Just Eat Takeaway, the Dutch-British meal delivery company, has acquired Grubhub, the US food delivery service.
