WorldRemit and Digicel International have partnered to enhance international mobile wallet money transfers. This partnership will cater to customers in Samoa, Tonga, and Fiji.

Customers in the stated locations can now make international transfers to Digicel MyCash. The recipient receives the funds within minutes. The new app enables customers to send money, top-up, pay bills, and carry out other transactions in one platform.

Customers can also use Digicel international to send money directly to MyCash wallets.

The offering comes at a time when travel restrictions impact the tourism industry as well as the movement of seasonal workers. The partnership also helps in the reduction of costs of remittances to the Pacific.

Lockdown measures have made it difficult to receive and send cash remittances in the Pacific. The partnership with WorldRemit provides a transparent and easy way for people to send and receive funds.

We wanted to provide an easy and transparent way for people to send and receive money. With this partnership, we are doing exactly that for all our customers. Bank transfer and money remittance costs remain an issue in the Pacific Islands, end-to-end digital experience like the one we’re providing now via mobile wallets will reduce the cost of remittances significantly for our customers; improving their day-to-day
