AI-Powered Robotics Startup Perceptyne Gets $3 Million Funding to Promote Electronic Manufacturing in India

Perceptyne, a developer of AI-driven semi-humanoid robots for industrial automation, has announced a $3M seed funding round, conducted for?accelerating product development, customer acquisition and growth.

The startup received investments from Endiya Partners and Yali Capital, with participation from Whiteboard Capital and some angel investors.

Perceptyne is working on a vertically integrated full-stack robotics platform with AI capabilities. The purpose of this platform is to perform tasks demanding human-like dexterity, such as product assembly & packaging. The new technology promises to dramatically reduce integration time (from quarters to weeks) and help manufacturers implement automation without making changes to their assembly lines. Besides, local companies may benefit from logistic savings, as the platforms are designed and made in India.

The startup’s industrial robots, PR-34D and PR-9D (dual-arm and single-arm robots, respectively), are equipped with vertically integrated technologies, including intelligent joint actuators, real-time visual feedback, fine force sensing, dexterous end-effectors, tactile sensing, tele-operative trainability, and state-of-the-art frameworks in Computer Vision & AI. They are well-suited for manufacturing/assembly line applications.

“AI has been making huge strides in the digital world with more compute being available, complex models being built and large amounts of data being collected. Leveraging these advances in the world of manufacturing automation requires a different class of robots – those that can sense the real-world better and are articulate enough to execute AI inferencing granularly.”

Raviteja Chivukula, CEO & co-founder, Perceptyne
