Sainsbury’s has launched Volunteer Shopping Cards, enabling customers to shop on behalf of people who can’t shop for themselves, including the elderly, disabled, and vulnerable.

According to the statement, customers who cannot shop for themselves should just visit the website and select how much they’d like to spend on their weekly shop, between £5 and £250.

Afterward, the E-Gift Card will be emailed directly to the person shopping on their behalf, which can then be redeemed at checkout in the store.

During this challenging time, it’s more important than ever that we come together as a community. That includes supporting those who are kindly helping others to get the essential items they need. Our Volunteer Shopping Card will make it as easy as possible for our customers to do so
Mike Coupe, Chief Executive Officer at Sainsbury’s

We’ve reported that online retailers and their carriers in the UK have accelerated delivery to keep pace with the high demand during the lockdown. As a result, the average delivery time has been decreased from 2.1 days to 1.7 days.
