Key funded companies using disruptive technologies were mostly located in the US or Asia-Pacific regions
According to GlobalData, artificial intelligence (AI) attracted the highest number of venture capital (VC) investors during 2019. Meanwhile, big data and internet-of-things (IoT) led in terms of investors-to-idea ratio and average deal size.
The report unveiled that 2,300 AI startups received funding worth $30 billion from around 4,000 investors during 2019, being the highest among all emerging technologies. Some of last year’s key funded AI companies included US-based Nuro and UiPath, along with Chinese company Megvii Technology.
